Moving Forward Together

I find the beginning of each new calendar year exciting, and 2017 is no different. It’s exciting to think about all our students have achieved already this school year, and that soon we will celebrate their accomplishments at graduation ceremonies.

We cannot do this alone and the Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) is very fortunate to have dedicated staff and strong community partners, the focal points of this edition.

HCPSS is intentional about engaging staff and community partners. For example, we’re better connecting with our growing Spanish-speaking population through the Spanish for Educators program. To ensure all our buildings are at their healthiest, we have expanded our Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) program, led by the new IEQ coordinator, Greg Maciulla.

HCPSS recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of its partnerships program, and I’m incredibly grateful for our more than 1,000 partners. We also recently marked the 10th anniversary of the Bright Minds Foundation, the independent educational foundation that supports our schools, students and staff.

It costs us only 28 cents a copy to print Celebrate HCPSS, and nothing for you to share the good news about HCPSS students, staff, our community and the school system that drive Howard County’s economy. Enjoy!
